Paper Water Bottles

This may not sound too gadgety, but its one for mother nature. Brandimage has made this 360 Bottle, wholly made from recyclable paper. The company even got an IDEA (International Design Excellence Award) for their concept. If only there's some way to convery those millions of plastic water bottles thrown each year....

Full-featured waterproof handset

Released by Fujitsu, the "F-01A" is one of the high-end models for NTT DoCoMo. Sporting a 3.2-inch LCD, is also supports GSM, GPS, Bluetooth, and more. Waterproof mobile phones are not new, but adding waterproof capability to a phone with alot of feature is harder because there's more wiring used.

Toshiba Quickcharge Electric Bike

Using Toshiba's quick-charging lithium ion rechargeable battery, the power-assisted bike from Cannondale Sports Group LLC was exhibited at a New York auto exhibit. The bicycle can run about 20 to 30 miles per charge. It's set to release in North America and Europe on 2009. Because the ratio for the force for the motor and the legs is 1:1(meaning 50% by the machine and 50% by the legs), the bike will unlikely be released in Japan, where the maximum ratio of the motor force to legs is 2:1.

Nokia E63

In line of the successful Nokia E71, Nokia is bringing the QWERTY keyboard to the Nokia E63, which is directed to more people at a more affordable price. The affordable executive phone is expected to release at only 199 Euros. The phone is ideal for people whoe are busy in both their personal and professional lives. From using social networks and personal emails, to accessing the business network and corporate mail, it can be done by switching modes with just a click of a button. Another cool plus factor is you can have remote access to your PC files online.

Panasonic Heavy-duty PC

A compact heavy-duty mobile PC will be relased by Panasonic specially made for doctors and the hazardous medical environment. This hand carried PC will be safe from chemicals, dust, water and shock. It has a 10.4 inch screen and a host of features like pen input functionality, wireless communication via WiFi/Bluetooth, RF-ID/barcode reading functionality and a fingerprint authentication sensor.

Samsung Bendable E-paper

Being exhibited here is Samsung's electronic paper display. As you can see it is very bendable, measuring at 14.3-inch and 0.3mm thick. It has a 1060 x 750 resolution. The display used carbon nanotubes (CNT) to prevent the e-paper to deteriorate after repeated bending.

Interactive mirror

Might not be as useful as other LCD mirrors, but the Interactive mirror sure looks more fun. From touching the mirror and using it as a paint program, to picking out T-shirt designs interactively, this techno mirror is very flashy in its features. With more applications possible to be added, it certainly is very promising.

Bowling Lamp

Bowling fans should definitely take a look at this. Just like a bowling pin, this lamp gets a knack when you bowl it over. The way to turn this lamp off is to knock it over. Put it back upright and it will lit up again. Pretty cool and unique for a lamp.

LG's Double-sided LCD

Here's a look at LG's double-sided reflective display being shown at a Korean exhibit. The 15-inch LCD has a pixel count of (512 × RG) × (384 × BW).

Robo Plant

Oxygen. Moisture. The sweet smell. Used to be only real plant that can emit those. But now there's a new robotic plant developed by a robot research laboratory in Korea that can do these stuff just like real plants. At 130 cm in height and 40 cm in diameter, this plant reacts to environmental factors as well. Come close within 40 cm and the plant blooms towards that person. When it hears a voice, it shakes up. IF it hears music, it dances.

Add-on PC LCD screen

If you have alot of apps going on in your computer, the LCD-4300U will certainly be a great addon to your PC. This 4.3 inch screen hooks up to a PC or Mac via USB and will show an app(like IE or Photoshop) you have running on your computer, freeing up your main PC. Have more apps running? You can hook up to 7 of these cool LCDs to a single PC, just get a usb hub. The LCD is powered purely by USB, so its very environment friendly.

USB retro controllers

Miss your old NES or SEGA genesis controllers? Check out this retro NES controller modded to be USB compliant. There's also a SEGA genesis one available. Both can be plugged in to PCs and Macs. They work like your standard PC gamepads. Input a series of buttons and the NES controller can even be used a mouse.

Vocal Joystick

University of Washington researchers have developed a software known as "Vocal Joystick" for controlling the mouse using your voice. Saying "ooo" Takes the cursor down, while saying "ahh" moves it to the upper right. They've specifically developed this to help disabled people. The Vocal Joystick software will need only a PC microphone to work. Several applications have been tested using the software, including video games and robotic arm operation.

Samsung S1 and S2 Mini External Hard Drives

Samsung is gearing up its hard drive porfolio with even smaller external drives. The S2 portable drive is 2.5 inch and comes in 160GB, 250GB, 320GB, and 500GB. The S1 mini is 1.8 inch and comes in 80GB, 120GB, and 160GB versions. Samsung used USB controllers to make their drives smaller.

Sony Flexible OLED

It's not yet gonna be available in the market soon but the Sony 11" flexible OLED screen is an incredible new techno wonder. With its 0.3 mm thickness, you can probably cut yourself with it just like a paper. The possibilities are endless once this reaches production. From being inbedded to windows, furniture, or even paper reports.

i-sleep laptop pillow

Getting tired and sleepy from using the laptop is not a problem anymore with the i-sleep. This unique pillow is attachable to the laptop, inflating with air when you close the laptop. Music is played by the laptop when the pillow is inflated, and it will even set off an alarm which can be adjusted to your desired waking time. No more neck-breaking cramps from sleeping on the hard desk.

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic

Here's Nokia's answer to Apple's iPhone, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. This Nokia handset is made specially for music lovers, being the first one to support "Comes With Music", one year's access to the Nokia Music Store. Probably the most notable feature is the touch screen, which has a drop down menu that can easily access music and videos. There's also a 3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens. Photos and videos s=taken can easily be shared online to sites like Facebook or Flickr. To be released next year, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic will sell for around 385.6 USD.

Nintendo DSi

Get ready for the nextgen version of the DS, the "DSi". Its LCD panel will now be slightly larger at 3.25". It's slightly larger and slightly thinner than the old DS. A built-in camera and music player are incorporated into the DSi. The camera will have alot of cool features like changing the expressions of people's faces, or even merging two faces into one. The music player will have different functions as well like changing the pitch, tempo, and karaoke mixing. Another big addition to the DSi is the DS Download Service. Users will be able to download content from the upcoming "Nintendo DSi Shop". The "Nintendo DSi Browser" will be the first free "Nintendo DSiWare" to be released. People will be able to buy prepaid points known as "Nintendo points" to buy content online.

Non-contact Touchpad

Got your hands dirty? No problem with using your laptop's touchpad and not getting it messy. Alps Electric showed its new touchpad with "minute capacitance sensing technology", capable of sensing moving fingers about 3 cm above it. The electric capacity of the hand can be sensed by capacitance sensors in the touchpad. Laptops are only the beginning. Look for it to be used in a wide variety of products.

15mm thick LCD TV

Don't be surprised if in the near future LCDs would be as thin as paper. Hitachi just showcased its new 37-inch LCD TV with the thinnest part only 15mm thick. The color range of the TV is 150% more than HDTV standards. The screen has 1,920 × 1,080 pixels. It will be released sometime in 2009.
